Support the Music
Support the Community

Your support helps us provide free and accessible music education, mentorship, and live performance opportunities for students, while using music to bring joy and connection to seniors across Boston.

Why Your Support Matters

The Student Music Project is a community-driven nonprofit rooted in the daily jam sessions at Wally’s Cafe Jazz Club. Since 2005, we’ve created welcoming spaces where students learn directly from working musicians, young artists build confidence through live performance, and seniors experience connection through music and shared meals.

Your support allows us to keep these programs accessible, artist-led, and deeply connected to the communities we serve.

Youth Music Education
Supporting student-led jam sessions, workshops, and seminars that provide real-world learning beyond the classroom.

Senior Music & Lunch Program
Combating social isolation by bringing live music, shared meals, and intergenerational connection to senior communities.

Community Jam Sessions
Preserving the tradition of open jazz jam sessions as a living classroom for the next generation of musicians.
