Since 2005, the Student Music Project has transformed jam sessions at the historic Wally’s Cafe Jazz Club into a living classroom for generations of young musicians. What began as an informal gathering has grown into a nonprofit institution rooted in mentorship, tradition, and community.
With more than 12,000 jam sessions hosted, Student Music Project continues to connect students, educators, and audiences—preserving jazz legacy while inspiring the next generation to learn, create, and belong.
