More Than a Performance
Each visit weaves live music, a shared lunch, and real conversation into a single experience. Residents listen, sing along, talk with the musicians and one another, and share a meal — turning an ordinary afternoon into a genuine community gathering.

Bringing the Experience to Residents
For many older adults, getting to an outside event isn’t simple. By bringing the full experience directly into senior housing and community spaces, we remove the barriers of transportation and mobility so more residents can take part with ease and dignity.

For Housing & Senior-Service Partners
Senior housing and affordable-housing communities, senior centers, community organizations, housing authorities, property managers, and resident service coordinators can host the program on-site. We handle the music, the meal, and the coordination.
Why Music Matters
Shared music can invite participation and conversation, spark familiar memories, and create moments of real joy. It brings people into the same room around a shared experience — and opens the door to intergenerational connection between residents and young musicians.

Student Music Project has delivered this program in partnership with the Boston Housing Authority, Age Strong, and Creative Transitions One, in communities including Doris Bunte Apartments, Dorchester House, Cardinal Medeiros Manor, John Boyle O’Reilly Apartments, and Bradley Housing.
